Our Knife Sharpening Services

We are pleased to offer knife sharpening services across each of our five London branches, with on-site knife sharpening available in our Islington and Hampstead stores (same or next-day service) and external knife sharpening available in our Battersea Power Station, Borough Market, and Chiswick locations. 

Same Day or Next-Day Knife Sharpening Services

Same or next-day knife sharpening services are available at our Islington and Hampstead locations, subject to availability. We operate our knife sharpening service from Monday to Friday. Knives can be dropped off at the weekend, but they will only be ready for collection on Monday. Please ensure your knives are clean and well-packaged, sheathed or securely wrapped in a tea towel. 

Standard Knife Sharpening: £9 per knife
Knife Sharpening with Minor Repairs:  £17 per knife

The team on-site will try to provide as accurate a timeline as possible, but we are unable to guarantee work will be completed at a specific time. 

Monthly Knife Sharpening Services

On a dedicated day each month, our Battersea Power Station, Borough Market, and Chiswick stores send knives to the workshop of one of our branded knife vendors. Drop your knives off at our shops before the following days to get them professionally sharpened. Please ensure your knives are clean and well-packaged, sheathed or securely wrapped in a tea towel. 

Battersea Power Station and Chiswick: First Monday of Every Month
Borough Market: Second Monday of Every Month

Once the knives are sent, they will take up to 10 days to be returned to our stores. 

Standard Knife Sharpening: £13 per knife
Knife Sharpening with Minor Repairs: £17 per knife

Any significant repairs may be subject to further quotation.

What Types of Knives Can Be Sharpened?

We only accept standard, double-bevel culinary knives, meaning we are unable to offer our services on any speciality single-bevel knives, serrated knives, bird’s beak knives, scissors, or mandoline blades. We cannot sharpen knives that have been significantly damaged. 

Free Annual Knife Sharpening for Kai Shun Knives

We offer a complimentary annual sharpening service on Kai Shun knives purchased at our shop, in-store or online, for 10 years. (Exclusions apply; see above.) This service is exclusively for customers on our mailing list, which you can sign up for here.
