Product Details
Made in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, this natural linen tablecloth brings the Bertozzi family’s century-old colour recipes to life through a delicate two-stage process. To create the beautiful Vite Impronta pattern, the raw fabric is first hand-painted with visible, deliberate brushstrokes to create a textured, painterly backdrop. Once steamed to fix colours onto the tablecloth and gently washed, the Vite motif is hand-stamped over the top using hand-carved blocks of pearwood, the very same technique used in the Renaissance. Stamping with two distinct shades of the same colour gives the vine design its characteristic depth and layering, followed by a final steaming and washing cycle to permanently fix the hues. Protecting the environment is at the heart of the Bertozzi workshop, which operates on solar power and uses steam to fix colours onto the tablecloth, which has the added benefit of keeping the colours vibrant over time.
Please note that due to the handmade process, the colour may vary slightly.
